Log 002 [Voice/Text]

[TEXT]

I am told I must thank a man named "Xigbar" for helping Booth get these skeletons. I do appreciate it, thus, my thanks.

I am still confused as to where this place is on Earth and I reject the notion that this is possibly not on it. The plant life us very much Earth-like and the way the soil is composed (I am not the best for this sort of conclusion, I usually leave this to Hodgins) seems to be akin to the native soil we have all over the world.

I will reaffirm, I am not a major in Botany or Ecology.

That being said, I am interested in looking at this lake that I'm told is south of the place where Booth and I are staying; I am told it's considered a community housing number 6. How long would it take to travel there, assuming I will need to go by foot? Are there certain things I should be aware of during the travels? Traps, animals, etc. Where would be the best place to get some hiking equipment if it's available, (a compass, boots, machete, things to repel insects, trail mix/rations for about three days, perhaps a tent?)

And where would be the best place to procure a fishing rod? Would I need to make one by hand? Or would I have to find something to trade. As well as a simple boat. Row boat or canoe, I would imagine would be best. I would like to say, this will be more than likely during the warmer days or during days where rain is not a factor.

[voice/action if Booth wants]

I need to thank you again, Booth. I love the skeletons. I feel more at home here.
However, I believe we should go exploring sometime, yes? I am curious of the other places. And yes, I would like to go to the lake with you. It's why I'm asking.

The closest you'll get to facts is the guide. The Malnosso tend to keep a lid on their operation, and there's only so much we can figure out secondhand.

Kind of a pain, though. Even after a few years, we're still left in the dark.

I'd rather make my own facts than rely on someone else's.

Can't blame you there. You might be able to dig up a thing or two, but sometimes extra info does come in handy. It's good for a reference, if nothing else.

[He shrugs.]

That is true, I will look through the guide, if only for some direction in what I need to clarify for myself.

Plus you can use it to compare findings.

The guide doesn't explain everything, anyway.

Perhaps.

That will need to be amended.
