I am told I must thank a man named "Xigbar" for helping Booth get these skeletons. I do appreciate it, thus, my thanks.
I am still confused as to where this place is on Earth and I reject the notion that this is possibly not on it. The plant life us very much Earth-like and the way the soil is composed (I am not the best for this sort of conclusion, I usually leave this to Hodgins) seems to be akin to the native soil we have all over the world.
I will reaffirm, I am not a major in Botany or Ecology.
That being said, I am interested in looking at this lake that I'm told is south of the place where Booth and I are staying; I am told it's considered a community housing number 6. How long would it take to travel there, assuming I will need to go by foot? Are there certain things I should be aware of during the travels? Traps, animals, etc. Where would be the best place to get some hiking equipment if it's available, (a compass, boots, machete, things to repel insects, trail mix/rations for about three days, perhaps a tent?)
And where would be the best place to procure a fishing rod? Would I need to make one by hand? Or would I have to find something to trade. As well as a simple boat. Row boat or canoe, I would imagine would be best. I would like to say, this will be more than likely during the warmer days or during days where rain is not a factor.
I need to thank you again, Booth. I love the skeletons. I feel more at home here.
However, I believe we should go exploring sometime, yes? I am curious of the other places. And yes, I would like to go to the lake with you. It's why I'm asking.
[Voice] -- he's at his own place NEXT DOOR for once
Date: 2011-03-27 02:34 am (UTC)You have to come drinking with me at least once though.
What's down by the lake?
[Voice]
Date: 2011-03-27 02:48 am (UTC)And fish? Swimming when the weather is warmer. However, I would need to look into procuring a bathing suit, due to your reluctance to see me naked.
[Voice]
Date: 2011-03-27 02:54 am (UTC)Yeah sure, fishing's fine. [He's not even going to touch on that other one.]

Date: 2011-03-27 02:51 am (UTC)The lake should only take a short while. You might plan it as a day trip. Fishing rods should be available in the shops if you look.
[Voice] - Ahaha! Bones speaks smart-person.
Date: 2011-03-27 03:01 am (UTC)How would you refute that?
Re: [Voice] - Ahaha! Bones speaks smart-person.
Date: 2011-03-27 03:03 am (UTC)Alternately, technology used to be incredibly more advanced than it is now on my world. It may be more advanced here than in yours. It may be advanced enough to have the requisites.

Date: 2011-03-27 08:25 am (UTC)Gravity is around 1G, but planets can look like Earth under several circumstances: Through natural means, or terraformation. Most colonies where I'm from are like this.
I agree with the Doctor Mizuno on that matter, especially constellations.

Date: 2011-03-28 02:54 pm (UTC)Would you be open to explaining your worlds to me, miss? I'm interested in the technology you would have.

Date: 2011-03-28 10:43 pm (UTC)I'm from a dimension where Earth has colonized over eight hundred planets by 2530. While most of them are located in the “sweet spots” of solar systems, bodies like Luna, Mars, and Europa were terraformed and colonized before FTL travel, by Tobias Shaw and Wallace Fujikawa in in 2291. While many are to extract resources -The Outer Colonies-, some have many more cities and industries -The Inner Colonies-.
This has made the political situation tense for humanity.
[Biggest understatement of the goddamn century.]
Notable tech where I'm from are terraformation means, artificial gravity by momentum, Space Elevators, Artificial Intelligences, and FTL travel; Biofoam, MediGel, and sterilization fields in Medicine; Spaceships, Magnetic Acceleration Cannons and armored exoskeletons in warfare.
If we're talking about species beside humans... they have way more tech dedicated to war.
[While Daisy is talking as if she had been ordered to give a report, the last sentence hints at something of a sore spot.]

Date: 2011-03-27 09:31 am (UTC)You are correct in that the plant life and soil composition of this region are quite similar to pre-Terran "Earth", at least from my understanding of such. However, there are many subtle differences that have arisen, possibly from the fact that this area is an artificial enclosure but also possibly because of multiversal physics; for example, the biota in this region are... not representative of all boreal forests, and indeed the biosphere seems as manufactured as the rest of this place...
Doctor Mizuno also mentioned variations in the constellations, and the presence of the so-called Filial Spirits; I have never had any evidence of the latter myself, but I am less disinclined to accept their existence now. [Robert pauses a moment, summing up his thoughts.] If you are from a pre-Terran "Earth" without magic or other such paranormal things, like my own multiversion, then perhaps seeing magic would be very strange for you. I know it was an extremely... difficult to accept occurrence for myself.
However, I must admit that I have no real evidence of this place not being an "Earth"-like multiversion. Whatever it is, though, it is most certainly not the planet I am familiar with, and neither is it the planet many of the inhabitants that come from Terram multiversions are familiar with.
[Voice] | They should all get together and talk about this shit. It'd be hilarious.
Date: 2011-03-28 03:07 pm (UTC)I am now partial to the theory that we're possibly been transversed over many galaxies, at this point. I am most interested in knowing how they managed to perfect the art of cryogenic freezing of humans and space travel. As well as knowing where the technological level of each place is at.
Would you mind me asking you questions about where you are from? Consider it probing your brain, if you will. [OTL. She thinks it's funny. OTL. And so she's laughing slightly.]
I do not believe in magic. It is highly unlikely that there is such a think without science being able to explain it.
[Voice] | They totally should and Robert would love that
Date: 2011-03-28 11:35 pm (UTC)Terran technology is capable of some apparent-faster-than-light travel spacewise via transporter technology, but the energy costs are extremely high and thus it is not often relied upon. As a result, most of the exploration of the surrounding solar systems is done with automated probes and dropships rather than with commandeered craft. But the method that the Malnosso use to take us from our planets seems much different from that. [If it is Luceti itself - and Robert doesn't know that for sure, yet, despite thinking of the idea - then it could even be some kind of physics aberration.]
Please feel free to ask questions. I am appreciative to see somebody with an enquiring mind.
[Robert can't help but nod at this.] I thoroughly agree on that last point. However, I have been rather forced to accept magic, considering it was quite plainly cast in front of my face. My friend, Mr. Sprensonne, who cast said magic, informed me that there are principles and mechanisms behind magic; on that note, I am inclined to think that magic is a subset of physics, perhaps specifically a force such as weak or strong nuclear force, or electromagnetism. On my thesis of magic, which I have been developing in the three months I have been at Luceti - though really only for the latter two months of said - I have noticed some very interesting parallels between different worlds' paranormal physics.
If you would like, I would be most willing to share my progress on this research. It is... illuminating. But I understand if it seems difficult to understand. My own world has no such paranormal phenomena, whatsoever.
[Voice] | So would Bones man.
From:[Voice] | I can see this becoming a beautiful friendship
From:[Voice] | I completely agree. However. Come IM me, I'm Playthespades on AIM. :3
