Log 002 [Voice/Text]

[TEXT]

I am told I must thank a man named "Xigbar" for helping Booth get these skeletons. I do appreciate it, thus, my thanks.

I am still confused as to where this place is on Earth and I reject the notion that this is possibly not on it. The plant life us very much Earth-like and the way the soil is composed (I am not the best for this sort of conclusion, I usually leave this to Hodgins) seems to be akin to the native soil we have all over the world.

I will reaffirm, I am not a major in Botany or Ecology.

That being said, I am interested in looking at this lake that I'm told is south of the place where Booth and I are staying; I am told it's considered a community housing number 6. How long would it take to travel there, assuming I will need to go by foot? Are there certain things I should be aware of during the travels? Traps, animals, etc. Where would be the best place to get some hiking equipment if it's available, (a compass, boots, machete, things to repel insects, trail mix/rations for about three days, perhaps a tent?)

And where would be the best place to procure a fishing rod? Would I need to make one by hand? Or would I have to find something to trade. As well as a simple boat. Row boat or canoe, I would imagine would be best. I would like to say, this will be more than likely during the warmer days or during days where rain is not a factor.

[voice/action if Booth wants]

I need to thank you again, Booth. I love the skeletons. I feel more at home here.
However, I believe we should go exploring sometime, yes? I am curious of the other places. And yes, I would like to go to the lake with you. It's why I'm asking.

[Voice] -- he's at his own place NEXT DOOR for once

[identity profile] unmarryable.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, exploring. Sure. Sounds good.

You have to come drinking with me at least once though.

What's down by the lake?

[Voice]

[identity profile] notsofunnybones.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, Booth. I would love too.

And fish? Swimming when the weather is warmer. However, I would need to look into procuring a bathing suit, due to your reluctance to see me naked.

[Voice] - you speak her language! XD

However, one must take into account the differences in the constellations, for example. Also, the presence of the filial spirits. They seem unbelievable, but we know they're real. If this is 'Earth', it seems it must be a 'different Earth', just like some of us have come from slightly different backgrounds than our acquaintances from home who happen to be here.

The lake should only take a short while. You might plan it as a day trip. Fishing rods should be available in the shops if you look.

[Voice]

[identity profile] unmarryable.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Great.

Yeah sure, fishing's fine. [He's not even going to touch on that other one.]

[Voice] - Ahaha! Bones speaks smart-person.

[identity profile] notsofunnybones.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
It's possible. I am not of the belief that the people who have taken us all are with the technology to transverse across galaxies in days. And as I told someone else, unless these people have mastered the art of cryogenic freezing of human and animals; it's very unlikely that we've been transfered in just a few days. In fact, it would take a possibly millennial for us to even get to the closest galaxy from Earth, Andromeda.

How would you refute that?

Re: [Voice] - Ahaha! Bones speaks smart-person.

[identity profile] no-use-running.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
You probably won't believe this answer, but that sort of thing is possible through magic.

Alternately, technology used to be incredibly more advanced than it is now on my world. It may be more advanced here than in yours. It may be advanced enough to have the requisites.

Re: [Voice]

[identity profile] notsofunnybones.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
That's good.

Would you mind coming with me to help find these shops as well? As well as a good place to pick up a machete or another large knife for me to be able to mark the way back. As well as more clothing?

[Voice]

[identity profile] notsofunnybones.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
You are correct, I don't believe that answer.

More advanced? I'm interested, please explain?

There was a point when much of human evolution was lost. They've been rediscovering what they knew since then.

I see. That sounds interesting.

I am Dr. Temperance Brennan, you are?

Mizuno Ami. I'm pleased to meet you.

[Voice]

[identity profile] unmarryable.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Sure thing Bones!

Although for finding the way back, that shouldn't be too hard. Seems like not everyone kidnapped here counts as a fan of the city.

[Voice]

[identity profile] notsofunnybones.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
I will model for you if you wish.

Ah, I would still like to be sure.

[Voice]

[identity profile] notsofunnybones.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
And you, Ami.

Would you mind telling me more about your "Earth"? I am very, very curious about how the technology has degraded from where it once was.

Re: [Voice]

[identity profile] no-use-running.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
It's difficult to explain that sort of thing. Most advancements were lost in a widespread catastrophe. Think about the Library of Alexandria, but an even larger scale.

[Not being said: the world was completely destroyed. And she was there.]

[Voice]

[identity profile] unmarryable.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Oh ah... haha... Your sense of humor. [Not that he doesn't know Bones doesn't really make jokes, but hey, maybe she's getting better at it. Also, still leaning towards hating women and not wanting to mess up.]

No harm in being cautious I guess, right?

[Voice]

[identity profile] notsofunnybones.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
I see. That is very impressive.

I am curious as to where your technology is now.

Re: [Voice]

[identity profile] no-use-running.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
I came here this time from the year AD 2008. I believe most Earths that have progressed to that year are at a similar level to where mine is now, at that stage.

You should be able to find all of those supplies you're looking for in the shops located in the plaza and reaching the south lake is pretty easy. If you just go downstream following the river, you'll reach the lake before too long.

As for the boat... I'd ask around to see if you could borrow one.

Re: [Voice]

[identity profile] notsofunnybones.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:31 am (UTC)(link)

Exactly, I would rather sooth your unease about me running off and getting killed by some fictional creature by being cautious around you. Even if I see no need for it.

[Voice]

[identity profile] notsofunnybones.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
I see, a year behind me. That's intriguing. It seems the research on multiple dimensions are true.

Do you mind me asking what your level of education is? As well, what is your current profession?

Re: [Voice]

[identity profile] no-use-running.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a surgeon. [Yes at age 19. She's proud of this.]

Re: [Voice]

[identity profile] unmarryable.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
[Flat tone in return.] That's sort of the reverse thing to be cautious about. I'd rather you were more willing to get lost so long as you took uh -- everything else seriously.

[voice]

[identity profile] stilldontgotit.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. A good chunk of the people here never even heard of earth before they got here, and how do you explain the wings? Not every day people grow extra limbs or feathers.

Re: [Voice]

[identity profile] notsofunnybones.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
See, Booth. If I was lost, you would come searching for me and if I had died, you would be mad at me. Thus, I'd rather be safe than leave you alone.
