I am told I must thank a man named "Xigbar" for helping Booth get these skeletons. I do appreciate it, thus, my thanks.

I am still confused as to where this place is on Earth and I reject the notion that this is possibly not on it. The plant life us very much Earth-like and the way the soil is composed (I am not the best for this sort of conclusion, I usually leave this to Hodgins) seems to be akin to the native soil we have all over the world.

I will reaffirm, I am not a major in Botany or Ecology.

That being said, I am interested in looking at this lake that I'm told is south of the place where Booth and I are staying; I am told it's considered a community housing number 6. How long would it take to travel there, assuming I will need to go by foot? Are there certain things I should be aware of during the travels? Traps, animals, etc. Where would be the best place to get some hiking equipment if it's available, (a compass, boots, machete, things to repel insects, trail mix/rations for about three days, perhaps a tent?)

And where would be the best place to procure a fishing rod? Would I need to make one by hand? Or would I have to find something to trade. As well as a simple boat. Row boat or canoe, I would imagine would be best. I would like to say, this will be more than likely during the warmer days or during days where rain is not a factor.

[voice/action if Booth wants]

I need to thank you again, Booth. I love the skeletons. I feel more at home here.
However, I believe we should go exploring sometime, yes? I am curious of the other places. And yes, I would like to go to the lake with you. It's why I'm asking.

[And Bones being interested in dissecting things and being unable to commune in normal social places didn't work for her either. :P]

It runs in the family? Ah, that's good. Have you thought about other possible professions?

Never. This is all Mama and I ever wanted.

[Bones' first friend was her high school janitor. :| They liked talking about diseccting things.]

Are you sure? I could use a new undergrad with your intelligence.

When we go home, it will be to slightly different worlds. But if you mean here, I could assist you occasionally.

As of now, gathering information about this place. Otherwise nothing.

I apologize. I should have been more productive in my time here.

[But she hadn't been herself. And then once she had, she'd fallen into guilt and self-pity for the things she'd done under the brainwashing's influence. Only now, this time, has she begun to really truly involve herself in Luceti.]

It's fine, I prefer to come to my own conclusions, however, help is always welcome.

The truth is, I feel as though I should be more use here. And I'd like an opportunity to keep myself at my sharpest. I feel as though I'm not working to my potential.

So, when you talked about needing an assistant, I don't mind doing that sort of thing, if I can be productive.

You would be more of a colleague, if I would point out. We would most likely be able to learn more from each other than you simply being my assistant.

I understand. I'm flattered, actually. We'll be able to learn a lot from each other, I think. I've studied very hard, but I'm still young.

I would like to point out that this is not flattery, but the complete truth. I admire that you're committed to your profession and that you're so young and obviously more than proficient at what you do. It's very refreshing to me, to be very honest.

However, allow me to ask you one thing. Please do not allow yourself to be caught up in faulty logic, I would hate to see another person so bright be swept away in a current much to big for them.

[Vague Bones is vaguely asking Ami not to be like Zack. D: She'd hate to see another person go down that road.]

Faulty logic? What do you mean, exactly?

[Oh, Ami. Torn between that head and that heart; but that doesn't seem to be quite what Bones means.]

Ah, I cannot explain completely, however. It involves a person I knew; he was bright and exceptional, just like you. However, he chose to believe in the wrong person and when the logic he tried to prove was right, was wrong... It came to a sudden halt. Me knowing him, of course.

[Oh, no. That's exactly what she meant. Zack had the same conflict.]

I've made mistakes in my past. But I do my best not to repeat them.

[Isn't she a bit young to be making that sort of regretful speech? But then, this is Luceti.]

[Ami's mistakes... had consequences. But four years later, they're in her past.]

Mm. It's how progress is made.
